They say you should never judge a book by its cover but it’s kind of hard not too when you can change your look so frequently with weaves and wigs. Celebrities such as Beyoncé, Tyra Banks, Cher and Lady Gaga have headed this trend for years and now everyone has jumped on the bandwagon. Although these hair extension products aren’t new developments in hair styling, many are confused on the difference between wigs and weaves. Simply put, wigs are worn like hats and can easily be removed whilst weaves are sown into your scalp or woven into your natural hair. Knowing this, wigs and weaves can be tricky to style especially if you aren’t used to having longer or fuller hair. Regular wire bobby pins struggle to hold hairs in place and often become tedious; thankfully, Twistie® has got you covered!
Ballet Bun:
To create a simple and cute ballet bun, follow these quick and easy steps:
Step 1: Place natural hair under a silicon wig cap (or any other hair cap) to stop the wig from moving on your head whilst styling it.
Step 2: Gather your wig hair into a high ponytail. Twirl your ponytail and then wrap in into a bun.
Step 3: Going diagonally from the top to the bottom on the bun, using the Twistie® hair pin to hook a little bit of the bun and a little bit of the hair close to the scalp as you twist in a clockwise motion.
Step 4: Use a second Twistie® to anchor both sides of the bun.
If you would like to try different styles using the Twistie® hair pin, simply follow the step-by-step instructions featured in our video tutorials on our YouTube channel (I’ll hyperlink to Twistie’s youtube channel) and website. Due to Twistie’s® simple and effective design, the small hair pin is capable of holding thick and thin hair, as well as wigs and weaves.
